Who am I...?

I'm a web editor from Singapore living in Tokyo. I'm building websites for a living as a writer on the go. I worked in print media for six years until I moved countries and used the Internet as a way to have a viable, mobile career. The Internet is a fascinating space and I never thought I would ever morph into a web chick - but here I am.

This blog is about...

...The ups and downs of expat life, trailing partner issues, food, travel, and Japanese culture. It's a way to keep in touch with friends back home and all over the world, plus it's a corner for me to showcase my work. But really, I'm just a restless spirit looking for great adventures and fabulous food.

The Emperor’s Digs

In my two years here, I’ve always wanted to take pictures of my favourite jogging area — the Imperial Palace. But digital cameras and sweaty runs don’t go together, so when we were doing some exploring with Mrs. Kangaroo, I went trigger-happy of course.

What’s breathtaking, particularly at night, is the juxtaposition of centuries-old Japan and futuristic William Gibson skyscrapers side-by-side. You can’t quite feel the same sense of awe in daylight but it’s still pretty damn cool.

Right in the heart of the Higashi Gardens, the kangaroo and I posed for a picture in a place where we pass by a few times a week.

He looked like he was focusing too hard on taking the photo (which happens all the time!) so here we went again.

This last one is definitely on the list for becoming a print and being framed up…Eventually…

Well, maybe the Imperial Palace didn’t get an exciting write-up in your Japan travel book? You should go take a stroll there next time you visit. I think it’s worth making the effort.

And yes there is a Sanrio themepark and it’s catered to kids and women who love kawaii things. hehe.
