Who am I...?

An ex-journo and former techno phobe from Singapore living in Tokyo, I worked in print media for six years until I moved countries in 2006 and used the Internet as a way to have a viable, mobile career. Now, I'm a blogger on the go who runs an online beauty biz from wherever I might be. I never thought I would ever morph into a web chick - but here I am.

This blog is about...

...The ups and downs of expat life, trailing partner issues, food, travel, and Japanese culture. It's a way to keep in touch with friends back home and all over the world, plus it's a corner for me to showcase my work. But really, I'm just a restless spirit looking for great adventures and fabulous food.

New products at Beauty Box

It’s almost midnight in Tokyo and the apartment is super silent — I had a very full and noisy pad for a week and I kind of miss that. But back to the grind and a thousand apologies for not publishing interesting posts. I will soon though!

I’ve just stocked up on some products for the month of November. Check out BB’s new Kose, DHC, and Fancl products here. Happy shopping!

I need to give a special mention to Dr Hagiwara’s Premium Barley Green Powder and Unicity’s Super Chlorophyll Powder which are on sale at Beauty Box: I’ve been taking a tsp of both in a glass of cool water daily since I was 20 (it’s been 10 friggin’ years!) and I must say I can’t do without this green blend.

Admittedly, this “sludge” (as the kangaroo calls it) doesn’t taste that great and is probably similar to wheatgrass in flavour, but this potent mix has helped me stave off terrible skin disorders (acne and eczema) and various allergies. Why not share the goodness?

Beauty is not skin-deep and it starts from within. You can’t put junk in your body and expect your skin to look great. It’s the blueprint of what’s going on internally so treat yourself right.

Hello! I just came across your site some time last week and i’ve started takin a few of those vitamins you mentioned in your other article ^____^ It’s ok to take them all at the same time right?…Or no?… Ah but your site is so helpful!! Now i always check it :D
I have a question though about Dr. Hagiwara’s drink and the Unicity one. I just got here to Akita 6 months ago so I’m still new to a lotta stuff :D Is it possible to buy those stuff at stores or would I have to order them online? I’m a junk-food junkie :( and since i’m only getting older, it’s starting to show on my skin so i’m trying to be healthy now. So I want to try that drink too ^__^
Thank you!! I really enjoy reading your articles!! I’m sorry I wrote so long :( ^__^

Thanks for your comment and for the compliments. I’m happy to know my articles are useful to you.

I don’t think Dr Hagiwara and Unicity are sold in Japan. When I was selling these items, it was from my SG store.

You can order from my mother who can sell to you — it’s an MLM product (and I’m not for any MLM system) so it’s not available at any physical store. It’s def available in the US and some sites offer it.

Or you can try green drinks from Fancl. They usually have samples sitting in a small fridge in their shops.

You can take a look at their range here but it’s all in Japanese:
