Low sugar brains
I kicked off the South Beach Diet with fervour last Wednesday. Now I am a tired lump who is craving sugar like crazy. After the first two weeks, your energy levels will shift and adapt to the dramatic cut in sugar intake. One. More. Week.
It was only since yesterday I felt the physical toll of jogging every other day on this diet. Even though I would replenish my reserves with a tofu salad or a handful of nuts or with a swig of soya bean milk, I just ran out of puff quickly. I had trouble focusing, too. I wasn’t as quick on my feet as usual.
The funny thing is, I’m not hungry as this diet readjusts your insulin levels which leads to less frequent hunger pangs. Right now, I’m thinking of pasta, chicken pies, ice-cream and non-diet Coke.
Sigh. Plodding on. I’m moody as hell, too.
