Looking at Tokyo from the water
We’re so busy in the summer in Tokyo — there are so many fun things to do!
A friend organized a Yakatabune boat cruise dinner party (details in English here) that sails through the Sumida River in the evening and it was a great way to enjoy a Japanese buffet and the impressive cityscape.
It was an all-you-can-eat tempura meal with an all-you-can-drink bar that had beer, alcohol, and Japanese shouchu.
As you can see, there was quite a bit of space so we didn’t have to remain in our seat. Throughout the two hours on the boat, everyone shuffled around and took pictures by the window and of the beautiful scenery outside. There was also karaoke to keep us entertained till the end.
It was a treat to be in a floating restaurant in Tokyo because it’s quite an effort to get at least 15 people confirmed for a party or you would have to fork out more than the usual 10,500JPY fee.
I had an awesome time and met so many nice people at this party.
Yeah, the kangaroo had to hunch a bit in the boat as it was a bit cozy. The photos are a bit blurry as they were taken by my iPhone — heard the next version will have kick-ass resolution.
