Jetting off to Sydney
15 Dec
We’re taking the shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagoya, then changing trains to get to Nagoya Airport. We get on a Jetstar flight from there to Cairns, and then a domestic plane to Sydney, where our rented car awaits us.
Blimey. It’s a long ride, but the cheapest option in these crazy times — do you know airfares have been jacked up 100% from last year’s Christmas season? Singapore Airlines costs twice as much, while Qantas and JAL are not much better.
But, I get to see this again.
Umi mitai (I want to see the sea)… Or the Japanese always go, “UMIIIIIIIII…” with so much longing when they see a lovely beach. That’s what I learned in Shimoda. It was actually kind of cute when I heard my friends say this.
So, there’ll be lotsa blogging Down Under.
