Who am I...?

I'm a web editor from Singapore living in Tokyo. I'm building websites for a living as a writer on the go. I worked in print media for six years until I moved countries and used the Internet as a way to have a viable, mobile career. The Internet is a fascinating space and I never thought I would ever morph into a web chick - but here I am.

This blog is about...

...The ups and downs of expat life, trailing partner issues, food, travel, and Japanese culture. It's a way to keep in touch with friends back home and all over the world, plus it's a corner for me to showcase my work. But really, I'm just a restless spirit looking for great adventures and fabulous food.

I’m having a Chris Martin moment

Besides loving Coldplay’s new album Viva La Vida, I think I am sharing a little bit more with its frontman, Chris Martin.

He did an interview with Rollingstone and was asked how he kept his hunger for his career going, “You’ve got to be hungry. If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you’d want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?” Wow, the guy has some self-deprecating wit.

While I went into my day with a big chuckle, I recalled a tiny incident last night with the kangaroo. Don’t get me wrong, it was not a domestic in any shape or form, but there was the mention of a certain ex…

Who was it? Well, the kangaroo used to date a singer in Sydney, and she now has a debut album with a new music video in the UK. So the kangaroo was watching something on Youtube and put on his earphones. My curiosity was piqued so I asked him, “What are you watching?”

I felt like I was thrown back into having turning-30 trepidations again. Maybe I just need to get past the date and everything will be alright.

In the meantime, it’s back to Billy’s Bootcamp with a vengeance — Bali’s beaches are beckoning in just over month and there will many hot Aussie Narelles, Janelles, and Kylies to compete with.

Anyway, let’s end this silly post with Chris Martin’s words of wisdom: “It doesn’t matter if you don’t look as cool as the Ramones — you’re never going to, anyway.”
