I saw plenty of shops but it was 9pm so they were closed. It reminded me of a Westfield which I always enjoy. If I ever live in Sydney, I would def need to take driving lessons again even though I have a license. I know what you mean about concrete everywhere - it makes Tokyo bloody hot in the summer!! You can get your retail fix there if you don't want to sit in traffic all the way to the city. If you live fairly close to the city and have decent transport it's ok. It all depends on where you need to go. The public transport system in places like HK and Japan is, comparatively, light years ahead. Suburbia is all well and good, but the sprawl in unsustainable. We need more high density housing.
